Si Se Puede provides a free after-school tutoring program in which Chandler High School Students and adult volunteers help elementary students with reading and mathematics skills. This is especially important for at-risk students and those whose parents do not speak English and therefore cannot help with homework. The program benefits more than 100 students in the first, second and third grades. The program also helps to build students long-term academic success and reduce those risk factors that led to detachment from school and home. 

Thanks to our Chandler High School students and adult volunteers, the after-school tutoring program was recognized as a finalist for the 2008 Everyday Heroes Awards and sponsored by Cox Communications and the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA).
