The Lego and underwater robotics program is the only year-round Chandler community based program that has increased "at-risk" youth´s interest and participation in science and technology as evidenced by the number of children participating (85) in the program and the overwhelming support the community has shown to the children involved in the program.

The program is deliverered to the following Title 1 Chandler Unified District Schools: Willis Jr. High, Knox, Hartford, Frye, Galveston and San Marcos Elementary Schools in the Cinty of Chandler.

The students who participate in the program are males and females between the ages of 9 to 13 years, who reside in Chandler´s most at-risk communities and whose annual family income is less than $20,000 per year.

The robotics program is designed to expose children and youth to the engineering field. The students will learn how to design, build, program and present their Lego, as well their underwater robots in local as well as regional competitions.

At the competitions, students will be required to discuss the impact the robotics club has had in their respective community, and the physics behind the construction and programming of their robots.

The students who participate in the robotics program will develop skills in computer programming, learn how to work in a diverse setting, learn time management , learn to verbally express themselves to others, increase their math skills, learn how to set goals and pursue them, and be exposed to technology that will ultimately keep them in school, earning good grades in the sciences and focusing on attending college.

The students enrolled in the program meet every Saturday mornings (Except holidays) at Frye Elementary School, 801 East Frye Road
. Chandler, Arizona 85225 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Registration is on-going. For more information on enrollment and/or sponsorship opportunities, please contact (480) 206-2292
